Green Room PT Services for 2023

Going into 2023, one of our main goals for the New Year is educating our local community on the many benefits of Physical Therapy, holistic care, and other alternative methods for achieving optimal health. We aim to educate and help our community to not only recover from a variety of conditions, injuries, aches, and pains, but also help with prevention and maintaining a healthy state of being throughout the year. Here are the services we’ll be offering in 2023 to help you with that! You can also check out our link on these services here https://www.thegrpt.com/services for the Cliffs notes version. If you'd like to schedule any of our services, feel free to give either office a call Troy: 518-326-3771 or Clifton Park: 518-280-2185 or fill out a request form here https://www.thegrpt.com/events-and-offers Here are our services:

Physical Therapy! This is pretty obvious, but for those of you who aren’t familiar with how we do PT, our sessions are one-on-one starting with a thorough evaluation. Depending on what you’re coming in for, your PT sessions may include hands-on manual treatments, specific prescribed exercises, and/or patient education. We treat everything from random aches and pains to chronic conditions, neurological conditions, poor balance, sports injuries, post-surgery, vertigo/dizziness, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, and more. Patients we treat vary from babies and children to the elderly, top athletes to the sedentary, those new to PT to those who have been to 10 other Physical Therapy practices in the past.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. This is such a wide-ranging service, from men to women, age 20’s through 80’s, from pain conditions to those of urinary frequency, urgency, and/or incontinence. Our pelvic floor therapists treat everything from pelvic pain to pelvic organ prolapse, constipation to painful intercourse. Pelvic floor therapy is also helpful for those who are pregnant, planning on getting pregnant, or post-partum.

GETstretched! This is our self-assisted stretching program. We stretch the client to their liking, usually focusing on hamstrings, hips, and whatever else needs that little extra stretching attention! People who enjoy our stretching program are those who are chronically tight, have been sore from exercise, and/or just want to get limbered up for life or starting a new exercise program.

Class IV a.k.a. High Intensity Laser therapy. Using our Aspen Class IV laser, we can treat a variety of acute and chronic injuries. Also known has High-intensity laser therapy (HILT) in the research, this therapy is painless, non-invasive, and without side-effects. It uses a photochemical effect to improve healing and even promote formation and activation of our body’s own natural stem cells to repair damaged tissue, including tendon, muscle, bone, cartilage, ligaments, and nerves. This all leads to natural healing without any of the pains or side-effects of pills, injections, or surgery.

Theralight 360 Light Therapy/Photobiomodulation Therapy. This therapy uses low-level laser therapy or Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy to the entire body by use of a light bed. The light bed uses red and near-infrared wavelengths of light to painlessly reduce inflammation, enhance healing, promote healthy circulation and metabolism, and improve a variety of conditions without negative side-effects. Some conditions that can improve with Photobiomodulation therapy include arthritis, fibromyalgia, acute or chronic pain or injury, peripheral neuropathy, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, brain fog, post-COVID symptoms, neurological conditions, and more. It has also been FDA-approved for weight-loss. This is currently offered only at our Troy location.

Custom Foot Orthotics. We use a digital laser foot scanner to evaluate a patient’s feet in the weight-bearing position. We are given information on the structure of the foot, any differences in weight bearing between the left and right sides, and more. Custom foot orthotics support all three arches of each foot, not just the inner arch as most off-the-shelf inserts do. The company we work with also offers orthotics that work best in work shoes, sneakers, work boots, and more. They also offer custom sandals and flip flops.

Telehealth Sessions. We started offering this during the Pandemic, and chose to keep it going since it’s been a great option for those who have to pivot quickly to a home PT option. We’ve had patients stuck home sick or traveling out of town who still need to keep up with their rehab. We have several patients who last-minute switch their in-person PT sessions to the virtual option for a variety of reasons: sick kids, weather, illness, etc. This has been invaluable for keeping patients on their road to recovery no matter the situation.

15-Minute Express Upper Body Massage. This service is offered by one of our therapists at Troy who is trained in myofascial release and other specific soft tissue release techniques. This massage is targeted to the upper back and neck, areas that tend to hold tension and can contribute to pain and headaches. This is not a traditional massage; it gets right down to the point and no clothing needs to be removed.

Normatec Compression Therapy. This therapy is used for several things, but one of the most common is for athletes who are looking for a faster recovery or way to reduce muscle soreness. It can also be used for edema, swelling, in the arms or legs. It can also help to control post-op swelling and fluid, and we use this for patients who had recent joint replacement or arthroscopic surgery. We offer this service in conjunction with PT, or as a stand-alone treatment.

Cupping Therapy. This therapy is used to relieve muscle tension, improve localized blood flow, and reduce pain, especially in the upper or lower back. We use two different cupping techniques: static and dynamic. Static cupping involves hard plastic cups that are applied to the area to be treated and stay in place for about 5-10 minutes. Dynamic cupping uses soft silicone cups to work over the area to be treated, in a more massage-type fashion. Similar to compression therapy, we offer this as a stand-alone treatment, or in conjunction with PT as indicated.

Wellness Visits. Done with PT and want to continue working on your fitness? We offer one-on-one 30-minute wellness visits, which act in part as a personal training session, and in part as an educational session. Continue working with your therapist after your PT is complete to reach your other health and wellness goals!

Graston Technique/Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). This therapy uses tools to mobilize injured tendons and muscles to improve tissue mobility and help aid in the rehab process. It can improve blood flow, desensitize painful areas, and help the rehab process. It can be used for a variety of conditions, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinosis, patellar tendinitis, and more.

As you can see, we offer many different services to help our patients and clients live their best lives. Our goal is to offer our community a variety of options to support their health and address their physical concerns, all without pills, injections, or surgery. Your Therapist here will be your best resource when discussing any of these options for your best care and outcomes. If you don’t have a Physical Therapist already and would like to schedule a free phone or in-person consultation with one of our Doctors to discuss how any of our services may help you, you may do so here https://www.thegrpt.com/events-and-offers
